Some friends of mine are asking me to do a post on the different
granite countertop colors. Because there are at least a thousand colors out there, it’s kinda hard to pick. Well, I really can’t post pictures of all those hues in this entry but I’ll be posting some of the common colors that homeowners love to use in their homes.
Just in case you’re curious, I’ll also provide some suggestions on where to put these granite countertops.
1. BlackIf you’re a minimalist, then you can never go wrong with a black hued granite slab or tile. Black has always symbolized class, elegance and sophistication. Unfortunately, there are tons of black granite colors. There are ones with big and small patterns, while there are those which are just solid black. Either way, these are rare, making them expensive.
2. Brown/Orange/YellowThese are common colors of granite (perhaps the most common hues). These are common in the market and are less expensive than the other types of granite. When one uses any tile with these base colors, your home will definitely gain a more comfortable and warmer feeling. At the same time, these are easy to pair with other types of materials such as wood. These can also give out either a classic or modern feeling.
3. White/IvoryJust like black, white and/or ivory based granite slabs and tiles can give your home a very sophisticated feeling. If you wish to imitate marble, you should choose these colors. In case you’re wondering about why you should prefer this over marble, this is because it’s more durable and can give you a pleasing look at the same time.
4. GreenIf you wish to give your home a more natural feel, you should use green granite slabs. Although these have varieties, you might have a hard time pairing green granite with other materials. Nonetheless, green can be very refreshing to the eyes. Plus, it can be used in other rooms besides kitchens.
5. BlueBlue is becoming more and more popular among people. Aside from dark colors, light blue granite is very lovely. Some homeowners are able to use these not only in kitchens but also in bathrooms and living rooms.
Whichever you choose, you will surely find that these tiles are great to use at home. If you cannot afford to buy slabs or tiles, you might be interested in using
faux granite countertops.
