How to Make Your Kitchen More Attractive with Kitchen Island Lighting
No matter how beautiful your kitchen looks, if you don’t have the proper lighting, it will all be in vain. That is why I did some research on kitchen island lighting to learn what can be done with my kitchen. By placing lights in the right areas, your kitchen will obtain a certain look.Of course, aside from having your kitchen look divine, you should also think about functionality. For aspiring cooks like me, I should make sure to have proper lighting in my workstations (in counters, stoves and sinks). In addition to this, one should also know where your dining station is. Attaching lights under cabinets and shelves is a good idea. Another suggestion would be to place bulbs inside cabinets. This is best especially if your cabinets are away from the lights.
If you have a kitchen island bar or a counter in the middle of your kitchen, placing pendant lights or ambient lights above them can help give them emphasis. However, these types of lights are only concentrated in one area. If you want your kitchen to look bright, you should plan carefully where these should be placed.
There are other alternatives to these. You can actually use track lights or spot lights. These can help you direct light to different directions. Unfortunately, these can be a bit expensive. Make sure you have enough budget when you choose these.
Kitchen Island Light Suggestions for Budget Conscious People
Speaking of budget—if you have a limited one, you can try something different. Place an ambient light in your kitchen but concentrate in the design of the windows. If you play it right, you may be able to light your kitchen with natural light rather than electricity. Using screens or glass can help you but always remember to take the necessary steps to protect yourself from UV rays.Don’t be afraid find lights with dim switches. This will enable you to control the amount of light you use. Yet another advantage here is that, this is an energy saver. It may be pricey but in the long run, it will greatly benefit you.
